Creating Personal Expressions

This is part of the collection of custom work done over the years. Some designs are custom, some are ideas given to be remade in glass and some are from existing patterns. But everything is a one of a kind, especially the custom designed pieces.

As stated before, custom designs are co-created with my clients to create a one of a kind piece especially for them. They will not be reproduced, even for myself, since each design tells their personal story.

This was built twice. 1st with my mentor, and then my way.

This set of windows were created to be given as a wedding gift by the best man.

These pictures show the fire within the heart of the journey.

This candle holder was a donation for a fundraiser.

These windows took this entryway from open to private.

This was a painting recreated in glass. Without knowing the original colors, it’s a good match.

The best thing about stained glass are its ever changing colors.

When it’s so personal that most people don’t notice this is truly a Family Tree.

As large as it was, it’s a perfect fit to hang in this nook.

This wedding ring box was commissioned by the bride..

I had to create this to replace a hideous window that was there. Signs of the time.

The Suite is more inviting now with this guardian keeping watch.

These two windows were a trade for work on my ’65 Chevelle. I miss that car.

Beautiful Greene and Greene window from ~1906 was the original design idea used.

Recreating design using 3 shades of amber, but 300 changing iridescent colors to play with.

3 shades of amber and keeping 300 changing iridescent colors separated was crazy fun.

More colorful than ever in the light of day.

The iridescence and base colors keep this window changing constantly.

The changes happen with the different angles of light and vision. Minds Blown.

Sometimes adding color to a design helps make sense of it while creating.

In the early morning light starts to bring it more to life.

The changes with light is why I call it painting with glass.

Finished before the crew was ready, but even glass sunflowers love the sun.

This window was installed backwards, but still beautiful.

The children and I from the Methodist church in Sundance, WY donated this window.

This piece of glass wasn’t cut on purpose for this. It was left over from something else and I couldn’t leave it alone.

This has been duplicated many times through the years.

I don’t do these often, but I love them. With light behind, it shows the colors.

With light in front, it changes everything.

With the wings flapping, it will attract a cat a mile out.

I had to fix this one, but then made one for myself.

An old pattern, but every piece of glass helps bring it to life.

Bringing Things Back Into the Light

Windows are not the only personal expression being preserved from the ravages of time. Lamps of all kinds need love and care too. Being able to preserve them for future generation to enjoy is priceless.

They said it was too soon to do something this big. HAHAHA!

I haven’t seen it since leaving NJ. I hope it’s loved.

Note to all. If you find a lamp built with lead came, get it redone before this happens. Although it happens to soldered ones too.

Had to use 2 shades of green, but it’s a beauty.

In a box that got crushed. 100 years old or more. Bent, cracked and twisted, but not too much to handle.

This beautiful desk lamp had been attacked by a cat. The cat won.

Then it was my turn to bring it back to life.

This has got to be the most beautiful metal work that has come to the studio.

And there’s no way to match this glass.. So I use magic.

Amazing. Even though the crack is still there, for a 100 year old, it doesn’t look bad at all.

This little beauty fell, but is back to its old self.

Damage from age, heat and moving made it interesting.

This poor thing losened from heat and,,,,

Etching & Carving

This is a truly unforgiving art, since one misstep will lead to a newly designed piece, or on the table holding tools. Projects are personalized for any occasion and sometimes just for fun.

This was done in a class where I taught airbrushing to the sandblasting class teachers.
