The Creative Journey

Mission

To share and honor the beautiful lost art of stained glass.  To create pieces of art that will stand the test of time.  To enhance homes and lives through the personally chosen designs and colors that soothes the soul.

Thank you for visiting Terrapin Studio..

Mission Goals

To bring forth beautiful, artistic creations for everyone to enjoy for years to come in the comfort of their own home.  Although prices will differ according to size and design, this doesn’t mean an absolutely stunning piece would be priced too high to touch.

Color therapy is an essential part of stained glass and woodworking designs, since there’s nothing more soothing than having the sun shine through a window, or light through a lamp shade created in your own personal color schemes on a table or cabinet with your own custom design and finish.

Extraordinary Experiences

Christie Jensen is a talented artist with over 33 years of stained glass and woodworking experience.  Raised by artistic/business minded parents in New York and Northern New Jersey, art has been not only a love, but a life.

Skilled in many artistic mediums, they all become apparent in the finished creations.

A wood and metal class in high school started a journey the art teachers couldn’t have imagined.. Taking the visions from the canvas to 3D creations was just what was needed.  Woodworking, antique restoration, artistic finishing and painting took the place of a hectic corporate accounting life.  Custom restorations and exhibit work was the next adventure, which included some lobby exhibits for large companies like IBM, MCI, Historic Preservation and  the National Park Service.  Custom cabinetry, furniture design and creation, and exotic custom finishing lead right back to the love of working with color and light.  And what a better way to enhance the expression of a lifetime of art than with stained glass.

Growing up in the mountains of northern New Jersey, although not far from her birthplace in Bronx, New York, a vacation in September of 2004 was when the Black Hills of South Dakota seem to tap into the heart of this artist, acting like a magnetic home where inspiration and creation can flourish and grow.

Terrapin Studio was re-registered in 2005 here in the hills.
